Get Latest very slow, large database

I am using 4.1.15.118, on a machine with 24gb ram and 8 cores.
My machine is encrypted with Credant, and our database is large.
Is there anything I can do to not make getting latest so painfully slow? I have tried using the RGTEMP variable, and I have tried the working path suggestion, but neither has made any improvements. If there's a way to move or tell Red Gate to put all the caching and what not in to a non-encrypted directory, if you think that that would make a vast improvement, please advise.
If not, is there anything else I can do?
