Format object before compare

Is there a setting to format the object (SQL Procedure) before the compare? I have modified procedures that are very long and when I compare to new released versions for our product, the procedure is scripted out in one line, which makes the comparison almost worthless. If the objects could be reformatted (remove white space) and then formatted via the same algorithm, the compare would be a whole lot more useful. Does this feature exist?

Thanks for any help.

  • Hello Bert,

Thanks for you question about SQL Compare and whitespace. We don't have a way for our tools to format the whitespace before the compare but we do have an option that ignores whitespace. This option is normally on but in your case it may be worth it to turn it off and see if this solves the issue.
