Perf Profiler 8 Crashes WPF App

Hello

Performance profiler 8 make my WPF (.net 4.5) crash when I try to start a profiling session by launching a .net executable.

This appears with all levels of profiling but does not appear when I "attach to existing .net process". Of course, I ensured that without Profiler, the app is running fine.

Here is the generated windows log regarding the crash:

Thanks for your post and so sorry to hear you're running into an issue with the profiler!

It looks like something's going wrong in the profiler core when it's starting up your application. We may have to get a dump file to see the stack trace leading up to the crash, but can I please first check--was there any option to send in an error report to Red Gate when the error came up? If so, can you kindly send one in with your email address?

If not though, I'll send across some details for obtaining and sharing the dump file--please let us know!

I Did not see any option to do so. But the profiler do not crash, only the application being profiled.

I tried cleaning up the appDataRedGateAnts performance profiler 8 folder, but the problem persists.

Which file content to you need me to provide ?

    Many thanks for checking that!

We can often get error reports for ones that happen in the RedGate.Profiler.Core.dll, but a dump file can help in cases where there is no option.

I'll send you some details (via our support ticket for this, #50937) in just a few moments on getting the dump file and sending it over--please let me know once you have the chance to do this!
