Time Line?

All,

Apologies if this is a really dumb question, however where is the time line in Ants Profiler? I see loads of references to it in the help but when I start profiling my app I don't see it. Neither does there seem to be any option in the menus to see it.

Confused.

  • I'm going to start with what I think is the most likely explanation... you have opened the memory profiler (which doens't have a time line) and have read the help/information about the new performance profiler (which does have a time line)!

If you go to Start -> Program Files ->

    you will see:

    - ANTS Performance Profiler 4
    - ANTS Memory Profiler 4

We are currently working on a new version of the memory profiler.

That's exactly what's happened. Thanks for your help Steve.
  • Glad it was that easy to solve. :)

If it was the performance profiler that you are after I hope you like it. Feel free to post here with any feedback on it.

The most important thing to know is that the time line is interactive and that you can drag regions of CPU out to see just the code that executed for that region.

Also, use the mouse wheel on the time line to zoom in/out to make scrolling it easier etc... if it has been running for a while.
