Hi

I just started using Red Gate Backup package to backup the Database and I found Template concept to reuse the Backup Options. However I couldn't find the Path of the file where it is created after click on Finish button.

Can some one advise the default path of the Template file.

I am going to use this template in my Custom Batch Script which will be automated everyday to back up the couple of database and then exporting to S3 Bucket.

Thanks

    Hi

Thank you for your forum post.

It does not save a file in the manner that you are seeking. The template information is stored in a registry in this path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARERed GateSQL BackupBackupSettings<SQL Instance Name>

A new key is created with the name you named the template, whose data value are the backup keywords and parameters.

If you wish you can save a copy of the backup script, on the final step of the backup wizard or scheduled backup job wizard ->select the script tab and then you can copy and save the syntax.

    Many Thanks
