Transitioning from dbproj in SVN

I inherited an old .dbproj project which is in SVN source control. I would like to use SQL Source Control to update the script files with what is currently in our development database, while preserving the scripts' history in source control. Is there a way to link these two seamlessly? I tried upgrading the .dbproj to a .sqlproj, but I got this error:
http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... +(.sqlproj)+file
Oddly enough, I was just connecting to the .sqlproj file using the Working Folder option.
I would really like either a step-by-step HOWTO on connecting to an old dbproj repository or help on rearranging folders in SVN so I can preserve the source control history. Thanks!
