Thanks for your post. ANTS Load can test any web server, even over the Internet, because it uses a generic HTTP client. Getting the performance counter data, though, is a different matter. To get performance counters from a remote machine, Windows requires you to have the necessary rights, and it can't check your rights if you are not a local or domain user.
I usually recommend setting up a VPN to the remote server's network to be able to get to the performance counters, because you need some way to pass your authentication to the server and you'd need to be part of the LAN, at least virtually, to pass your domain credentials.
