Recieved the following backup error durring our log shipping job and it broke the chain of logs.

Is there a possible way of using this log backup, I have tried the gui, cmd line, and the sqb converter with no luck.

Bad thing is if I cant use this file I have to put the full backup (150gb compresed) to tape and ship to the dr site and start log shipping all over, heres to hoping you have some magic.

Warning 210: Thread 0 warning:
Warning 210: Error writing to backup file: h:\backups\PRD_10122007_124502_LOG.sqb
Warning: System error 87(The parameter is incorrect)

In the backup where this error occurred, did SQL Server report a successful backup message i.e. the message that states the number of pages that were backed up?

    Thanks.

Here is the info from the backupset table - it appears that sql thinks the backup was good.

    backup_set_id name description user_name first_lsn last_lsn checkpoint_lsn database_backup_lsn database_creation_date backup_start_date backup_finish_date type backup_size

If that's the case, I don't think the log file is recoverable. If the file isn't too large, you can send me a copy and I can determine if the portion that was failed to be written was a non-critical section.

Could you please also tell me the backup command that was used? I would like to know the options and settings used for the backup.

    Thanks.

    Thanks,
