"SQL Prompt" menu item grayed out on Menu Bar

Hi,

I'm using SQL prompt 3 with SQl Server 2005 Management Studio SP1.

For some reason the SQL Prompt menu item is intermittently grayed out when I start up Management Studio. When this happens I have to uninstalle SQL Prompt, reinstall, restart and pray it works again.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Is it a known bug?

Hi JP,

We had some issues like this during the beta. Here is what was suggested then:

It sounds like your version of prompt hasn't been upgraded properly. Could you try uninstalling SQL Prompt rebooting and then installing the [final release]. That should restore the menu. If that seems like to much work then you can run

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\SqlWb.exe /setup

which will restore the SQL Prompt menu but will not definatly mean you are running the latest version.

Hi Tilman,

Thanks for the reply. I will remember that. It's rather strange that this happened as I'm using the release version on a new windows xp installation. I will however remember this remedy in future.
