Support for SQL Server Express Edition???

I have Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition with the SQL Server Management Studio Express loaded and it appears that SQL Prompt 3 does not detect and integrate with it. I have repaired and reinstalled SQL Prompt 3 a couple times but it does not detect. I also have found that support for my UltraEdit has been dropped as well which I did not know when I pre-ordered the software. Are there still bugs to be ironed out and is support for UltraEdit returning? In the meantime it looks like I may need a refund and return back to the free version of SQL Prompt 2 since it actually works with what I have.

Sorry you're unhappy. We do support SQL Server Express however the Express version of Management Studio is not supported since it does not allow plug-ins to be installed. I have to be honest and say that it's extremely unlikely that UltraEdit support will be returning: I can only apologise for this since it inconveniences you, however if you contact sales@red-gate.com and explain the situation they will be more than happy to offer you a refund.

How is SQL Server Express supported then? What can I use for SQL Queries in SQL Server Express if the Express version of Management Studio is not supported? Thanks.
The normal version of SQL Server Management Studio will happily connect to SQL Express instances. You should also be able to connect using Query Analyzer. You can get one of these by installing the client tools for the relevant version of SQL Server.
Hope that sorts you out.

Just wanted to let you know that Management Studio Express Edition is now supported in SQL Prompt 3.1. You can grab an early access release by following the instructions at:
