Sql compare - abortion error

I've just purchased the red-gate bundle. However SQL compare is not working properly. After selecting the two databases the systems stops with the first task "Registering databases". The following message appears in the bottom "SQL Server 6.5 and earlier are not supported". Strange because I'm running SQL Server 2000

    Hello,

    Yes, but if the database is set to compatibility mode 65, the SQL Server 2000 delivers the database as if it were SQL Server 6.5. And in this case, SQL Compare would not understand the database's information schema model and it would get really confused.
