sql compare - aborting error

I've just purchased the red-gate bundle. However SQL compare is not working properly. After selecting the two databases the systems stops with the first task "Registering databases". The following message appears in the bottom "SQL Server 6.5 and earlier are not supported". Strange because I'm running SQL Server 2000

    Hello,

    Have you checked the compatibility mode property of the database? If the compatibility is set to '65' then the database will behave as a SQL 6.5 database no matter what platform it's hosted on.
