Can't update from application "Check for Updates"

I've already installed licensed copies on 6 servers. I'm starting to see some strange behavior on a few of these servers and after doing a lot of research, and seeing A LOT of buggy behavior in recent months on your technical forums, it's suggested to upgrade to the latest version.

The servers I installed to do not have an internet connection. I have to download the latest (evaluation) version and copy to a network share so that I may install then do the key verification by email routine for each of them.

Will this work? Or do I have to completely uninstall 4.1.0.207 first?

I figure that it's alot easier upgrading within the application, no?

  • You can upgrade your servers from within the application.
You will need to get the latest version by selecting Start -> All Programs -> SQL Backup -> Check for updates.
Once you have upgraded your client machine you can upgrade the server components on each of your 6 servers from within the application.

If you have registered each of your servers select each on in turn in the left hand panel, right click and select Install/upgrade server components.
