3.6.7.246 still painfully slow and locks up mgmnt studio

Granted, I'm on VPN but this has never happened to me before. I'm using GIT and the database locks up for 5+ minutes after going into Object Explorer, selecting on the DB in source control (which then starts the scan) and trying to expand tables for instance. Lock up created. Management Studio shows busy and is unusable. I had this problem on 3.6.6.178 and saw the recent posting about it....turned on frequent updates and installed 3.6.7.246 hoping this would solve the problem but it is still really bad. Please help Red Gate!

We have identified the performance issue with expanding Object Explorer nodes (eg Tables) in versions 3.6.6 and 3.6.7 of SQL Source Control. A database request is unnecessarily made for every object in the list, so the performance hit will depend on the speed of connections to your SQL Server instance.
A fix is in the pipeline, and we hope to make it available this week to frequent updates.
