Installing Data Generator 3 to an application server

I have developers that want to install Data Generator on a database server directly. Their rationale is due to automation; SSIS packages from the server itself need to access Data Generator. They are also requesting RDP access to the server to use Data Generator. As a sysadmin, this raises a red flag to me.
Is it possible to install Data Generator 3 on a shared drive on a dedicated application server so that multiple database servers can access Data Generator from SSIS? I'd rather not have to give out RDP access to multiple DB servers in the organization if the use of this tool expands.
