Interaction with SQL Source Control

If you use the SQL Source Control plugin for SSMS to extract the SQL from a database and put it in the file system under Git control, it creates a RegGate rgproj file yes? And if you want to work with the project using the SQL Connect plugin for Visual Studio, you should be able to open that same rgprj file, yes? I am trying this but it seems to be taking forever to load.
