32 bit Vitrual registry entries causing problem with ANTS

I have a 32 bit app I am designing in VS 2012. When I debug normally, Registry entries are saved to (and read from) the virtual part of the 64 bit Registry in Windows 7 64-bit.

However when I run ANTS, the values from the Registry come back empty. So I re-type them in, and save, but then the next time around they are empty again.

I do not know how to debug this problem, or even if its ANTS causing it. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks,
Dave

  • It's definitely debuggable but there are different strategies. Firstly, however- can you try running ANTS with the option - 'Attach to a .Net process'? This should have the least affect on the original program. If it still happens, which I very much doubt, I'll have a think about the next step. If it doesn't happen, the reason it happened before will be to do with the permission that your program inherits when it is run from ANTS and we'll have to take a closer look at how your app runs.
