deploymeny very slow

Hi
I want to sync two databases. The first from production which is not particularly large with one that is identical in objects but empty.
I created the new DB on the target and synced the SQL compare 10.
When I run data compare 10 the comparison doesn't take too long but the deployment has been runing for nearly half an hour now and is only at 29%.
I am wondering why it is so slow? What is it doing to take so long? If I use a backup I can restore in seconds and a massive insert script takes just minutes.
Surely, data compare should just be running a script to insert? Then why is it so slow?
Am I doing something wrong?

I think there was a random internet bottle neck or something.
