Data Compair Hanging

I am having a problem with SQL Data Compair. I am connecting remotely to a data base and I can compair the 2 databases and once I choose what to update and click the next button sequence it hangs.... I checked that port 1433 is open on the firewall but it is still not working. Does anybody know why this is happening.

Is this in relation to running the synchronization script? It could be that one of the tables is locked, not allowing Data Compare to update the table.
