How to skip users and role members

We very frequently synchronise several db's to the same schemas, but find it a pain that we either cannot multi-select items to sync - eg all tables, views, stored procs etc - but we never want to sync users or role members between databases. So we have to individually select every item that we need to sync - which is a right pain ( or do the opposite - select all to sync then unselect all users and roles - of which there are many).

Is there any faster way to do this?

It would be nice if there was an option to ignore users and role members!

  • This is supported in version 4. To get download instructions for the beta see the SQL Compare 4.0 beta forum lower down in the forum list.

FYI -- to clarify, there is an option to ignore roles in the global options, but there is still no CTRL/SHIFT-CLICK multi-select support in version 4 because the UI has not changed. This will be addressed in the UI being introduced in the version following 4.

I just thought I would potentially save you a bit of disappointment there!
