ANTS Affecting WCF Service Call Duration

Hi,
I have a WCF Service hosted in IIS which normally executes a particular method in approximately 10 seconds. I need to profile this call so I started an ANTS Profiler session. When I call the service after attaching ANTS the call now takes in the region of 40 seconds. This surprises me. My previous experience of ANTS is that it does not affect the overall performance of the process which it is profiling.
Does anyone else know whether this is expected behavior? If so and the overall times cannot be relied upon are the percentage metrics accurate?
