Sql Server Management Studio Crashing

Hi,
Sql Server Management Studio 2012 is crashing when using Sql Source Control 3 if the user has no access to the database....
If recently created a new user on my development test-domain and made it a member of the serveradmin role instead of sysadmin by accident.
When trying to link sql source control to this database I never expanded the database in the treeview on the left but instead just went straight to the sql source control setup tab. The moment you click on "link database to ...." the whole program is crashing, with windows offering the usual "restart...", "check online for solutions...", etc. dialog.
If you actually try to expand the database item on the treeview on the left, I got an error message like: database XXX is not accessible. Sql source control should perform the same check....
