For SQL Backup Pro 7.0, how does the checksum check affect resources on the file system in terms of CPU, memory and I/O? Is it worse or better than verifying the header information?
The effect of using the CHECKSUM option is the same as when the option is used on a native SQL Server backup. See this link for some discussion on the performance impact of using this option.
Also, you can use the CHECKSUM option in your backup commands since SQL Backup 4. It wasn't available in the GUI, though.
