or at least, i think its strange....

hi

We installed sql monitor to evaluate it before the summer on a test server using my domain admin account, everything worked great!

now, we removed that installation and installed it on the proper production server (a win 2008) and we are having some issues setting up monitoring...

i´ve set up an domain acount called sqlmonitor and the instructions says that he has to be local administrator, so we created a group called sql local admins and made the group a member of the local administrator group on every sql server.

when i add the user to that group (ie making it local admin on every server) i get the following error message in sql monitor:

Group: WMI
OpenNamespace: Root\MSCluster
Incorrect credentials or insufficient permissions
UnauthorizedAccessException
Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

BUT when i add the user to the local administrator group manually, everything works fine (or so it seems, at least its connecting and monitoring...)

the first server that we tried this on is in a win2008 cluster of 4 servers, and i have to admit, im not a pro when it comes down to clustering windows...

any ideas ?
