cannot login due to unhandled excpetion occurring on server.

Occasionally I find I cannot login, and always I find the following waiting for me on the server hosting the monitor:

From Visual Studio Just-In-Time debugger
An unhandled exception ('System.Net.Sockets.SocketException') occurred in xsp2.exe[1952].

Any clue?

Hi Randy,

Unfortunately, this is a bug with XSP web server (the default web server which SQL Monitor ships).

Since this is not a bug with SQL Monitor code hence not in our control to fix it. We have already raised this issue and you can look at the details here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=609787.

Since, this bug has not been fixed in XSP hence to workaround the problem, SQL Monitor restarts the XSP when it crashes. You see the error below when this happens. SQL Monitor won't lose any data when this happens.
