Hi all,
when I run sql prompt (5) ssms is as slow as a snail, even clicking on the menus is slow and not workable. when I tab back to ssms from a nother windows a it take like 2 seconds before I can do anything.
system:
windows 7 32bit
have installed latest nvidia 3100m drivers
targus docking station with dual display
4gb of ram, windows can uses 3gb
any ideas on how to improve sql prompt response?
thanks all

Does the slowness start when you open a SQL script? It may be that some particular SQL constructs are making SQL Prompt struggle. If so, please send a copy of your script to support@red-gate.com so we can investigate.

Out and confirm.
Ok so with only one windows open sql prompt works ok, but not as quick as before on xp and different laptop configuration. with every sql script I open or write the performance goes slower and slower and the bigger the script.... to a state where there is no point using sql prompt.
I have gone back to 5.1.4 and find that the problem is far less pronounced. It still has high CPU activity but for much shorter periods making it workable.
Meanwhile, we've spotted some other optimisations that should speed things up as well. Subject to testing, we hope to get these out in the next bug-fix release.
I appreciate everyone's patience in this matter.

I am experiencing same issue, where can I download 5.0 or different version which doesn't have this issue? I am using 5.1.6.
Thanks
