Managing SQL Backup from another machine

Hi

I've got SQL Backup installed on 2 servers and would like to remotely manage them from either machine.

Is this possible?

Does it matter what version each server is?

Would it be possible to monitor the backups from a third machine (that doesn't have SQL Backup installed)?

Thanks

Ben

Thank you for your post into the forum.

The answer is yes, providing your servers are licensed for the Professional Edition of SQL Backup.

You will need to add all the servers you wish to manage into the GUI.

Ideally both servers should be on the same version of SQL Backup.

To monitor from a third machine, you can install just the SQL Backup GUI. The GUI is not licensed, only the server side components are licensed, so you can then manage your servers and adding them to that install. If you do not wish to install the GUI on the third machine use Remote Desktop Connaction to one of the servers and open GUI on the remote machine.

I hope this answers your question.

    Many Thanks
