Grouping alerts based on alert object

Whilst it is useful to have any particular alert instance upgraded depending on severity, is it possible to group alerts based on alert object?
It is possible for example to view all occurrences of a particular alert based on object but it doesn’t seem to be possible to clear all alerts for an object.

For example we have a job that runs every 15 minutes. Sometimes overnight the job runs for so long it triggers the Job Duration Unusual alert. We have set the alert thresholds to our desired values because we want to be alerted to any problems during the day for this job. Overnight we don’t care if it takes a while to run.

The problem is that this alert may occur up to 10 times or so. Whilst I can filter the alert list by Job Duration Unusual and clear them by multi selecting, what we would like to do is clear the latest occurrence of the alert, and then have SQL Monitor clean up any older occurrences of the same alert on that object that have not been cleared already. Is this already possible and we are doing something wrong? Or is this simply not available? If it is unavailable is it possible that it could be introduced in a later version?

Thanks,

Simon

    Hi Simon,

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

The current implementation of Alert Inbox doesn't support clearing all occurrence of an alert for an object. But this feature is high priority in our list too. This should get implemented soon. For your reference, we are tracking this as SRP-3570.

I'd like this very much. Maybe also limit the alert inbox to show alerts based on alert/object and not on occurences. Occurences can be viewed in the detail. Showing the number of occurences in the alert inbox then would be nice.
I think the combination with purging data can influence the results, but based on the occurence the level of the alerts might also be raised (maybe a nice option to have then on the alert configuration)
