Close dialog box on completion - not persisted

Hi:

With most (if not all other) Redgate products if I mark the checkbox 'Close dialog box on completion' it is remembered between sessions, but not with Virtual Restore 2.2.

I am talking about the last dialog that appears when the actual restore is being undertaken.

Is this by design or is there another reason?

Regards,
Martin.

  • Hi!

We are days away from releasing a new SVR wizard, one that completely replaces the progress dialog at the end with what we hope is a more intuitive, in-line progress page.

As part of these changes the 'close dialog box' button has been removed, but we hope that the completion page will prove useful to you, rather than a hindrance, such that you don't miss it.

Thanks for that interesting information, I look forward to this update.

BTW, does VR automatically check for updates? I can't see any 'Check for updates' button.

    Regards,
    Martin.
  • Not yet - we haven't worked out a neat way for 'check for updates' to work with the underlying SVR engine. Most of the time you don't directly use the engine, so we are trying to find a way to notify you of changes even when you are not 'running' the product.

We send all licensed customers an email to tell you about the upgrade when we release. Not ideal, but we should be addressing this soon.
