SVN Show Log

The instructions for viewing logs with Tortoise SVN, state "in a Windows Explorer window, right-click, and from TortoiseSVN select Show log."

However, this only works if the folder that is selected is in the hidden location that is used by SQL Source Control for storing the file copies:

C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Red Gate\SQL Source Control 1\Transients\5c0k3jgl.vvf\Tables

An alternate is to use the repo browser.

Can you clarify what the prescribed approach should be for viewing logs?

Thanks,
Gary

  • Hi Gary,

Thanks for your post. To be honest, you can view the logs however you want to. We are merely giving suggestions on how to use another 3rd party app, Tortoise SVN.

Personally, I just get the repo browser up and then look at the logs from there. I then keep the browser open as long as I am working, hitting refresh now and again.
