Delayed Change Detection

Sometimes we have noticed that a change we make is not immediately reflected in the Commit tab, even after clicking the refresh icon. After commiting the changes we do see displayed, then the change that was missing appears in the Commit tab, and we can commit it.

Why might this happen?

This is indeed curious. Does this happen with certain object types?
