Warning about digital signature when using command line.

I'm using Windows XP Professional and I'm an Admin on my computer. I get the following warning when I run SQL Compare from the command line:

"Warning: The digital signature in the distribution license is incorrect.
Could not create licence distribution files. Please run as adminstrator if you wish to create these files."

What do I need to do to correct this?

Thanks,
Greg

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Can you kindly try following steps to activate the product?

    1. Browse to installation path of SQL Compare 8 by default it is C:\Program Files\Red Gate\SQL Compare 8
    2. Look for application RedGate.SQLCompare.UI.exe and right click and select option 'run as' and use Administrator
    3. And that go to 'Help' menu and select 'Enter Serial Number'

Following above steps should ideally help you to activate SQL compare 8.

Kindly let me know if you still have issues activating the product.

  • I followed your instructions and got a message saying "Activation successful." The product seems to be fully registered and working correctly except that I am still getting the error message I mentioned in my last post.

    Thanks for your post.

Can you kindly go through the knowledge base article:

Let me know if this helps.

  • I discovered the problem. There were orphaned distribution files from an earlier installation with a different digital signature. I deleted those and SQL Compare created new ones on the next execution.

    Thank you for your help.
