beware AV products

Hi -

I had some issues with the profile software, I changed a few things inorder to get it to work. Ostensively I believe the issues arose because the box was running a parnoid AV package.

If you have problems it might be worth ensuring your AV package isn't wound too tight.

    Hi Red,

Yes that's some good advice. We had encountered some problems with Symantec AV just this week. However, we use Symantec Corporate and don't experience any problems from that.

I'd imagine that the Symantec Internet Security would cause some potential problems.

McAfee 8.0 can also cause problems. Their buffer overrun protection has wreaking havoc with some of our .NET code, but they've since fixed the problem, via a patch.
