Auto-reduce identical groups in SQL difference panel
Love the group bars in version 5 (installed it today)! Would it be possible to automatically reduce identical groups? This way we can scroll faster to where the actual differences are. Also, where's the "status filters" toolbar we had in v3? I don't care about the big group bar telling me I have 257 identical objects...… -
Re: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
Comment by James B · · Home› Discontinued and Previous Versions› SQL Source Control Previous VersionsThat file stores which database are linked, and to where- if you delete it, then restarting SSMS should in theory have not shown any databases as being linked. Can you check if you also have a SQL Source Control 2 (or 1!) folder with the same file? Perhaps it's spotting an old file and importing the settings across for… -
Re: SQL Change Automation with PowerShell Core
Short answer: I don't think so. SCA v3 requires Windows Powershell per https://documentation.red-gate.com/sca3/getting-started/requirements/powershell-component-requirements SCA v4 isn't super clear: https://documentation.red-gate.com/display/sca4/PowerShell+component+requirements But, since it says ".NET Framework… -

Re: Again exporting/printing (sorry) ...
Comment by thomas.guenter · · Home› Discontinued and Previous Versions› ANTS Performance Profiler Previous VersionsHi Stephen, thanks for your quick reply. With v3 it's possible to export some XML or HTML and copy this to Excel as well. But actually that's not the point. What I mean is that it should be no problem to add some features for creating an export file of the summary directly (without applying some copy/paste or doing… -
Re: Can't INSERT TableName EXEC sqlbackup anymore
Making the change might break other users' code who expect the 2 datasets. Given that the xproc in SQL Backup v3 was essentially calling the command line interface to perform it's work, you could get similar results by using xp_cmdshell to run sqlbackupc e.g. xp_cmdshell 'C:\Program Files\Red Gate\SQL Backup\sqlbackupc… -

Re: Integrate SQL Doc with Dependency Tracker?
Hi Thailo, Thanks for posting on the Redgate forums. I'm not aware of a method to achieve this but it is something we have investigated internally. At this point, there isn't enough interest to take this forward so I would advise dropping a feature request via the link https://www.red-gate.com/SQLDoc/Feedback/v3 and we can… -
Re: Analysis Shows Incorrect Log File Size Values
Ed Sorry for lack of reply yesterday. I was trying to get some good comparison information for v2.3 but hitting a few problems. However I did some comparisons for v3. I set up a custom metric using the DBCC code you provided (changed only so that it returns a single numeric value). I then did some manipulation to get my…
