Error in Synchronization script for SQL 2000
Hi, We have a custom type 'boolean' in our databases and after comparing two databases (one on SQL 2005 express and the other on SQL 2000), the custom type has been considered to be different. However, when I go to update the database in the SQL 2000 server, I get the following error message: The following error message… -

How to combine SQL and Data scripts into single transaction
Discussion by mdp2176 · · Home› Discontinued and Previous Versions› SQL Data Compare Previous VersionsWe need to be able to create upgrade scripts that change both schema and data. The data changes are dependent on the schema changes, and the schema changes cannot be applied without the data changes following, or our software will break. My question is - since the two products (SQLCompare and DataCompare) generate… -
Role and Schema creation out of order
SQL Compare scripted the schema and role creation out of order. Below is a snip of the beginning of that script. I was using SQL Compare 10.1.0.102 and comparing script folder --> SQL 2008R2 database. Also, I can see that Role creation doesn't have the error check found after all the other actions... though I'm not even… -
Bug in Smart Rename handling Precedence?

Re: To collate or not to collate that is the question...
Comment by Brian Donahue · · Home› Discontinued and Previous Versions› SQL Compare Previous VersionsHi Stephane, You're correct. If the collation order is specified in the table already, SQL Compare is going to migrate that information to the target table. So although you've excluded collation order from the comparison, you haven't got rid of it. The only suggestion I have at the moment is to do a search and replace in…
