in SQL Search
we have been discussing Microsoft Purview at my place for a little while. It is a confusing product and takes a long time to get your head around it.
One of the primary use cases for the Purview data catalogue that we have identified was captured as
"We want to be able to do a single red-gate SQL search across all our databases, across all our servers".
I know it would have to work in a very different way to it does now, but if there could be a version of "SQL Search" that ingests object data in the background on a nightly/hourly basis or something, and then allow us to filter by "environment" and instance name that would be really cool...
Especially if the object ingestion was done by service account so people can search the databases without needing SQL Logins themselves.
Just thought i'd throw it out there!
