Add alerts to the server overview graph

Currently the graph on the overview will show coloured dots on the x axis of the graph. For example I will be able to see over the last 3 hours how many alerts for "Long running queries" or "Job Duration Unusual".

However an application is showing lots of deadlocks but I cannot see on the graph when they are happening, they are no showing in the alerts either even though they are configured. I can see in the SQL Server logs that they are appearing but SQL Monitor is not showing them.

Any idea how to add deadlock alerts to the graph?

Thanks

  • Hi @OrionUK,

What version of SQL Monitor are you currently on and are you using the eXtended Events for your deadlock alerts or the normal deadlock alerts?  Also, have you switched back from XE deadlock alerts to normal deadlock alerts and not restarted the base monitor?

I've just checked and these do show up in 8.0.24, but if I have disabled XE then I needed to restart the base monitor for the normal Deadlock alert to fire.

    Kind regards,
