Cannot open SQL Backup 9 GUI due to "There is already a copy of SQL Backup running on this computer"

in SQL Backup
I have read previous entries in this forum about checking to see if the GUI process is running (it is not) and to delete any "lockfile.pid" files (have done to no avail). Anyone else having the same issue and if resolved, how did you do it?

Thank you for your forum post. I believe that you also submitted a support ticket on this subject, call reference #100020.
On the machine in question, with the SQL Backup GUI closed ->Please open Task Manager and select the processes tab, are there any SQL Backup processes running?
If yes, right click select properties ->Is the task the 'RedGate.SQLBackup.UI.exe'? If yes, are you able to end the process?
Many Thanks
