Passwords needed during compare

Currently we are testing the compare, and the developer is finding that she has to use the SQL admin login information to do the compare. Is this happening for other users? Rather than building that sensitive info into the script, what else can we use?

    Hello,

It's not necessary to have a sysadmin role to use Data Compare, unless the server is specifically locked down in some way, for instance some of the microsoft-shipped (extended) stored procedures and system tables.

If you can figure out what access restrictions have been applied, you should undo those.

In certain circumstances, you'll need a more powerful login to run the synchronization (not the compare) if you are dropping primary or foreign keys as part of the synchronization.
