How to capture the deployment status, using the power shell script?

Couldn't find any parameters listed to capture the same.

  • Just to follow up on this for the benefit of other users- I think you already spoke to some of my colleagues about this. The problem is that if the deployment fails, the powershell will no longer be executing and therefore there's no way to capture the status.
It's possible to email upon *success* (check the script forum for an example of sending emails) but for failure we'd need to make some changes to the application.
We'll gauge interest in this based on how popular it seems on Uservoice

  • Hello James,
    thanks for responding.

I have been able to send emails on success and what is critical is to know if the deployment fails as the servers are located in different physical locations and might be deployed by a different team.

I do understand - any program if it breaks in between it may not continue execution further. Probably no news should be assumed as Fail news :)

I have already added my voice to the link that you had shared :) thanks for that.

  • Sounds good- it's something we'll be looking at as it would be a useful feature.
