Hi,

We recently purchased an automation license so that we can use SQL Compare on our build server. However following the instructions here

I get the following message.
Error: Invalid command-line argument: /activateSerial. Please use SQLCompare.exe /? or SQLCompare.exe /verbose /? for more information.

Can someone please help?

You must upgrade to version 10.2 (point something - I'm not sure exactly when they trotted this out) to get the /activateSerial option.

Previous versions you could activate it just by running it, filling in the serial number, and then copying Distribution.dll and Distribution.mod anong with the other files to the other server.
  • Great thanks, upgrading to 10.4 has worked.

We just had an old SQLDeveloper Bundle file that the installation was done from.
