I am trying to compare my project located under TFS with database in SSMS. Is this possible? to select source as Project from TFS?

  • It's not officially 'supported' yet but I can't think why it shouldn't work in most cases, as SQL Compare just reads recursively from a folder of scripts. Simply load the schema objects folder in the database project as a scripts folder data source in SQL Compare Pro.

Do let us know if this doesn't work.

  • I currently have SQL Compare 9 with me..it is different from SQL Compare Pro? If so from where I will get SQL Compare Pro for trial?
  • I am getting error Like X 'Registering data sources'

An Item with the same key has already been added.

A duplicate def'n found for stored procedure XYZ.. Ensure case sensitive option set correctly and all object creation scripts are valid.
  • Have you selected the 'Use case sensitive object definition' option? This is not selected by default, so you will need to navigate to the options tab and select it.
