License required for SQL Packager command line?

I recently purchased and activated SQL Packager and SQL Compare.

I love the products!

I am able to run SQL Packager via the UI but when I try to use the command line SQLPackager.exe it prompts for license activation.

Do I need to buy a separate license to use the command line exe?

    Hi,

Thanks. Thanks a lot. We try hard to make a good piece of software.

All of the command-line tools, though, are licensed under the SQL Toolkit umbrella. The SQL Toolkit is advertised as 'access to the API for SQL Compare, Data Compare, and Packager', but it also covers the command-line tools SQLCOMPARE.exe, SQLDATACOMPARE.exe and SQLPACKAGER.exe.

This means that you'd either need a SQL Toolkit licence, or upgrade the SQL Bundle to the Developer Edition.
  • Can I get a trial license to see if the command line tools will work well for me?

Has your trial period run out where you can't continue past the nag requester? If so, drop us an email at support@red-gate.com and I'll see about getting a key for you.
