limitation on cursor position in a S.P.

I have noticed that SQL Prompt 4 will not prompt if the cursor is more than 190 lines down in a stored procedure. I can insert lines before the "border", and it will clearly move up accordingly. It is not based on what is in the lines (to my knowledge) and the limitation is that it will not prompt for user declared variables in the procedure. What's up, Red Gate ? If there is a way around this, please advise.

  • I have noticed that the limit seems to be a distance (# of lines) from the declaration of the variable. If the declaration is moved further down in the stored procedure, Prompt4 can detect it from further down. While interesting, it doesn't really solve the problem.
