Hi,

I am getting ready to upgrade from Version 3.1 to 5.4. Is it better to remove the old version then install the new one? Will my old 3.1 jobs continue to work or do they need updating also? Any hints or tips are appreciated.

thanks
terri

Great, glad you are upgrading as a lot has improved in the product since 3.1!
Yes, it's probably better to remove the old version and install the new one as fresh. Generally upgrading should be fine, but given it's such a big gap between versions, this may well be the best option.

Your old jobs will all work as they did previously. You might want to review them to take advantage of new functionality (multiple threads for example to boost performance). If you create a new job from the user interface, you can then review the script to see which new keywords have been introduced.
