ANTS Profiler 3.2 has been released

We are proud to announce the release of ANTS Profiler 3.2. This version comprises numerous bug fixes, the ability to see thread names on named threads in the results, and support for the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 development environment.

This version is a no-cost upgrade to ANTS Profiler 3.x and is available from http://www.red-gate.com/products/ANTS_Profiler or by using your existing installation's check for updates menu item on the Help menu.

We hope that this update to ANTS Profiler will make it easier for you to identify application problems and improve your managed .NET code.

    Bug fixes:
    • Profiling ASP.NET on Windows 2003 server did not always work and would lead to a "Timed out waiting for port 8013" error message
    • ANTS Profiler 3 fails to load whilst there is an active VPN connection
    Enhancements:
    • For performance profiling we have add extra columns that display the amount of time executed in machine ticks. This can be useful on laptops running SpeedStep Technology
    • During installation you can now choose whether you want to install the VS.NET ANTS Profiler add-in

    Enhancements:
    • Added support for Windows Vista
    • Added support for .NET Framework 3.0
    • Visual Studio Integration is provided so you can run and profile your application from within for Visual Studio .Net 2003 and Visual Studio .Net 2005.
    • The Visual Studio .Net 2005 ASP.NET developer server is also supported.
    • The ANTS Profiler API enables you to take snapshots on demand which means you can programmatically profile just the parts of your application that you want to.
    • Fast Mode for performance profiling significantly speeds up profiling by only profiling methods and not the individual lines of code.
    • Support for 64 bit profiling on x64 versions of Windows is now available.
