I have a cluster of one server (eventually will be more) and I’m having problems installing Red-Gate Backup 5.2. I have the front end installed but the install through the GUI fails saying master..sqbutility is not found and master..sqlbackup not found. I next tried the manual utility SQBServerSetup.exe and it seemed to install but now the sql cluster server name in the GUI won’t register. I’m confused what’s happening. Can you help?

Could you please explain what you mean by a cluster of one server? Are you using Microsoft Clustering services, or another clustering solution?

    Thanks.

  • We are using MS Cluster service but only the active node is in the cluster. The passive node is not defined at this time. The plan is when we decommission the old production server we will add it as a passive node to this cluster.
