SQL Data Compare Command Line - include a Where clause

Hello, we are attempting to automate some RedGate comparisons through the command line functionality. However, we do not see a command line option to include a "where" clause like the RedGate GUI offers to do on particular tables.

Does the command line support "where" clauses on compared tables? And if yes, what is the syntax or documentation for that?

Thank you!

    Hi @JimEdgeton

    Thanks for your post.

Unfortunately, no, the command line doesn't support "where" clauses on compared tables.

You could use the GUI to create a project and save it.  Then in the cmd line use /project switch.

  • @Sarah B Thank you for helpful suggestion - that approach should solve my immediate issue. If there's an opportunity for a command line enhancement someday in the future, supporting "where" clauses is something I would request considering. Thank you again, Sarah!

Are there any plans to implement this?
