Catch a Hung Job \ Job Duration Unusual

So I've been looking all morning and I can't seem to find an alert that I can configure to catch a hung job. I assumed that Job Duration Unusual would, but that only fires after the job is complete. This doesn't help. I realize that I can code and configure a custom alert but is there really nothing native to catch this? Our hourly data warehouse load got hung up on Friday and never completed and the first indication I had was users complaining about missing data.
