PDF attachments - "This file cannot be previewed because it is corrupted"

Monitor version 8.0.19.16748. 
This happens regularly to scheduled email reports. Generally, if I edit the report then it is OK for a day or two but always fails eventually. I can generate PDFs within Monitor quite happily - it is only when emailing on a schedule that I get this.
I can't find anything in any of the logs associated with the time that the reports are generated.
Where can I look to get more information about this error and how to correct it?

    Ok my first recommendation would be to upgrade then as we now bypass ssl checking whilst generating reports, which has led to this issue in the past. That said, we're investigating a wider issue with report generation so it may not fix things for you entirely.
